It has been so long since I've written on our blog, which is unfortunate because this is our journal of sorts. Why do I still schedule myself so rigorously?
I did really super well for the first few weeks and had our house consistently cleaned and dishes done and was early to meetings etc. but I just haven't seemed to keep up with it now!
While Dan was gone to NYC I did get a big project accomplished that I was hoping to. We know we'll be somewhere besides Utah for probably the summer and fall...so anything we take with us will have to be shipped (and possibly shipped internationally); everything else will be stored. This has been a great motivation for me to get things condensed and sort through what we actually need. I started with our couple stacks of papers that don't seem important, but I kept misplacing important documents etc.
So...I threw away all of this. Much of this is manuals that I could find online and I found how to make sparse images (which encrypt the files on your computer so that without a password people cannot see your important information). Pretty techy, huh?
Dan and I joked about how we weren't technology buffs and we each thought of ourselves as bad with technology, which hindered our progress. The same day we both INDEPENDENTLY decided today was the day to learn technology and told each other about it at dinner! I loved this ;)
Well anyway, THIS completely filled a trash bag and I threw away all these papers!!!
And this was what was left! Ok, so it really doesn't look that different from how it did before, but let me tell ya, every one of those papers in that cupboard is organized!!!
Well, that's what is new in the life of the Holbrooks...oh, and Dan has some internship leads from his trip to NYC! I'll let you know if any of them pan out! Now to do the dishes...it's hard when on your day off you work from 8:20am - 6:30pm with no lunch break. Oh the life of a realtor :)
